For immigration packets
Share your immigration documents without leaking the rest of your life.
An I-485, affidavit of support, tax transcript, or bank letter carries your SSN, account numbers, address, and dates of birth. clean.ink finds the structured details and truly removes them — and lets you box out an A-number or receipt number by hand — entirely in your browser, so the file never leaves this device.
Free on-screen preview · $6.59 once to download — unlimited clean exports · no account, no subscription
- 100% local
- Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
- No upload
- Your document is never transmitted, stored, or seen by us.
- True redaction
- Covered content is destroyed in the file, not hidden under a box.
How it works
Upload, auto-detect, review, export. Most documents take under a minute, scans included.
- 01
Open your packet PDF
Drop an I-485, affidavit of support, tax transcript, or bank letter. It loads straight into your browser — nothing is uploaded.
- 02
Let it find the sensitive parts
clean.ink scans the text and flags structured details: SSNs, account and routing numbers, dollar amounts, address, phone, email, and dates of birth.
- 03
Review and redact
Accept what it found, dismiss what you want to keep, and draw boxes over identifiers it can't detect — like an A-number or USCIS receipt number.
- 04
Export and file
Preview the redaction free — it stays on your device with a watermark. Unlock once to download a clean copy. The redaction is real — the text is gone, not hidden.
What it catches
clean.ink automatically flags the structured details that leak from immigration paperwork. You review every one before it’s redacted. Identifiers without a fixed pattern — like an A-number or USCIS receipt number — aren’t auto-detected, so you draw a box over them yourself.

clean.ink is privacy tooling, not legal advice. You decide what to redact on your filing.
Your file never leaves this device
Every other PDF tool uploads your document to a server before it can do anything with it. clean.ink can’t — it has no server to upload to. The parsing, detection, redaction, and export all happen in your browser, with on-device OCR for scanned transcripts and letters. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and still finish the job.
And the redaction is real. A black box you can copy the text out of isn’t redaction — that’s the common failure, including macOS Preview. clean.ink destroys the underlying content so it can’t be recovered.
The honest version
- Nothing is uploaded. The only network call clean.ink ever makes is to verify a payment — never your document.
- A-numbers are a manual box. USCIS A-numbers, receipt numbers, and visa numbers aren’t auto-detected — you redact them by hand, and the box truly removes the text.
- Always preview before filing. The free on-screen watermarked preview lets you confirm the result yourself before you trust it.
Pricing
$6.59 once. Redact forever.
Redact and preview your document free — the preview is watermarked and stays on this device, with no account. One payment of $6.59 removes the watermark from clean exports for this document and every document after it. No subscription, no per-document charge, no account.
Questions
- Is my immigration packet uploaded anywhere?
- No. clean.ink never uploads your document. Opening the PDF, finding sensitive details, redacting, and exporting all happen locally in your browser. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and still redact and export your I-485, affidavit of support, tax transcript, or bank letter — there is no server to send the file to.
- What does clean.ink detect automatically on immigration documents?
- It automatically flags structured personal information: Social Security numbers, labeled bank account and routing numbers, dollar amounts, street addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and labeled dates of birth. You review each one before it is redacted.
- Can it redact my A-number or USCIS receipt number?
- Yes, but as a manual step. clean.ink does not auto-detect USCIS A-numbers (Alien Registration Numbers), receipt numbers, or US visa numbers, because they have no fixed labeled pattern the engine recognizes. You draw a redaction box over them yourself — the box truly removes the underlying text, it does not just cover it.
- Is the redaction permanent and safe to file or share?
- Yes. clean.ink destroys the underlying content in the exported file rather than drawing a black box over it. Unlike highlight-and-print or a black rectangle in a markup tool, the redacted text cannot be copied out or recovered. Always preview the export before you send copies to anyone.
- Can I redact scanned documents, like a tax transcript or bank letter?
- Yes. clean.ink runs on-device OCR for scanned pages when it can recover the text, so detection works on scans as well as text-based PDFs. It supports files up to 20 MB and 25 pages. Nothing is uploaded for the OCR — it runs in your browser.
- How much does it cost, and do I need an account?
- No account and no subscription. Redacting and previewing are free and unlimited — the on-screen preview is watermarked and stays on your device. To download a clean file you pay $6.59 once for lifetime access — pay once, download forever, with every future document unlocked. Your file still never leaves this device.
